There are a lot of moving pieces that go into manufacturing the advanced instruments and monitoring devices you know and trust. Everything we are able to deliver is driven by the people of AMETEK Power Instruments. Ensuring the safety of our employees is one of our top priorities and imperative to our ability to provide clients with the products they need. As we approach National Safety Month in June, we reflect on how we can maintain and continuously improve our safe work environment.

We believe success is no accident and undertake several continuous steps and programs to help promote, rectify and prevent safety issues to the best of our ability. Through the measures we have in place, we have over 1,455 days of no work time lost. Our safety program is always evolving as we build on the practices we have in place and continue to implement new ones. Just a few of the things we do at AMETEK Power Instruments to ensure the safety of our staff include:
  • Safety Task Force: We have a team of employees and management that come together regularly to discuss safety across our facilities, address and find solutions for new problems and promote our on-going safety programs.
  • Safety Audits: We regularly perform safety audit walk-throughs to look for issues in our practices and provide remediation of anything we discover.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): We require PPE in our manufacturing facility including safety glasses in all areas. Some departments may use heat resistance gloves, safety shoes, work gloves, aprons and face shields depending on what PPE has been deemed necessary for their duties.
  • Machine Safeguards: Our machines are equipped with interlocks, and we make sure every employee knows the proper operation procedures for the equipment they are working with.
  • Celebrating Safety: We believe in celebrating our achievements, and we held a celebration for our team in summer 2023 when we hit 1,100 days of no work time lost and counting. We hung banners to recognize the accomplishment and serve as a reminder to keep striving for every day to be a safe day. All our employees received a safety shirt and we hosted an ice cream truck.

Safety starts with our team, and we can’t thank them enough for making the safety of themselves and their colleagues their top priority. We encourage you to take some time for June’s National Safety Month to recognize your staff’s efforts at creating a safe workplace.
